08/21 First Day:
On my first day on my internship at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion I met my supervisor/mentor Michelle who is in charge of the marketing and sales for TriHelath Fitness and Health Pavilion. After meeting with Michelle, I also met with the other team members on the Marketing and Sales team for TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion in Marshall and Emily. After meeting them, Michelle gave me a tour of the facility and to see the fitness center and the pools, basketball courts, spa, physical therapy, and many more things that they have to offer. I like the culture of this organization and how people are nice and hardworking as well and they are very helpful to people if you need any help. I also met more TriHealth workers throughout the tour that worked in different departments for the facility. After the tour of the facility I helped set up my mini desk so that I have a place to do my work and then I went on to meet more TriHealth employees that work in the office. After meeting them Marshall showed me how to scan members papers and use the machine. After learning about how to scan and use the copy machine I attended my first meeting and introduced myself to other TriHealth employees as the Intern and what are my goals and what I am looking forward to learning the marketing and sales at TriHealth Pavilion. Lastly we went over the dress code and it is business casual and they gave me TriHealth t-shirts to wear for my internship.
8/22 IT setup and marketing brainstorms:
On the second day of my internship me and Michelle went over my work schedule because it is not a paid internship, so I have to work my other two jobs. After coming up with a schedule that works best for me I met with the IT department and they helped me set up my login information and got me a laptop so that I can edit and make flyers and do other business work that will help Michelle out. After getting that taken care of, I meet Jane, our front desk person and she showed me the duties of running the front desk, like making sure members get check in and don’t have a balance on their account, checking out people that buy snacks and drinks, give people forms to fill out if they want to join the facility or take a tour, and answer phone calls to people who have questions about TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. After learning the duties on how to work the front desk, I went for a walk for my lunch break and after that I meet with Lashaunda Jones and she took me on a tour through the Kids Life Center where they have programs for kids to do while their parents go to work or workout or have an appointment at TriHealth center. After that me and Michelle brainstorm marketing ideas for upcomings events that are going on at the facility and how we are going to promote the event and what to put on the flyers to get the members attention, so that they could consider going to an event.
8/23 Front Desk Hustle and Marketing Magic: A Day of Duties and Demos"
On the third day of my internship I was running and helping Jane run the front desk and do front desk duties. After helping her out at the front desk I attended a cooking demo by our dietitian Julie Woodmansee where she will do a cooking demo to people on how to cook quick and easy recipes to cook for dinner and simple tips on how to pack healthy lunches for adults. I like this cooking demo because it shows you how to eat healthy with quick and easy recipes and snacks and what other healthy food options that you have to choose from and not always choosing unhealthy food. After attenteding the cooking demo I helped Michelle out making flyers for activities that are going on at TriHealth for the months of September, October, and November and we were placing the flyers erveywhere throughout the facility so that members can see what activities are going on for which month. After doing that I scan more papers for members and after that I help and shadow the front desk and do front desk duties. As I was doing desk duties I noticed that the members went through alot of towels and I had to make sure that we had towels at the front desk, so members could use as many towels as they wanted. After doing that me and Michelle discuss marketing and sales plans for next month and the upcoming year at TriHealth, so that we can let the members know ahead of time.
8/24 From Cooking Demos to Marketing Plans: A Productive Day at TriHealth
On Thursday during my Internship Marshall taught me how to fax papers for the members and what to do with their information and he also showed me how the billing of members memberships and seeing how to process that information and put it on a spreadsheet on Microsoft Excel sheet to keep the members information on file. After learning about that I was able to get my TriHealth laptop and be able to login and help my supervisor Michelle out with Marketing flyers for TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion and make sure that everything was correct before me made copies so, that we could put the flyers out to the members so, that they can see what is going on at the center for them to do and participate in with their friends and families. After doing that I attended a meeting with my supervisor and their bosses and we discussed what changes are going on at the center and what ideas do we have and how these changes will be beneficial for our members and make a better connection with our members and bring in new members as well. After doing that I went to the pool area and was introduced to a pool staff member who is getting their masters in Sport Adminstration from Xavier University and wants to get into marketing just like me and I think that is a great connection because we both have something in common and we both have the same goals that we want to achieve.
8/25 Membership Madness: From Sign-Ups to Pool Mishaps, a Week at TriHealth
On Friday during my internship Michelle showed me how to sign up new members that want to join the TriHealth Fitness and Pavilion center on the Complete Software. Once the member wants to join the center we give the new member a packet on the types of memberships they can choose from and the different activities that we have to offer and what fitness classes that we have to offer. After doing that we give a tour of the facility to the new members to see what type of fitness center, swim pool, hot tub, and basketball courts and other fitness rooms and equiptment that we have to offer at TriHealth Ftiness and Health Pavilion. After we did the tour we took the new members to our welcome center office and made them fill out paperwork and Michelle showed me how to add members into the computer with their information to be official members of the TriHealth Fitness and Pavilion. After doing that we had a problem in the warm water pool where a woman pooped in the pool and the pool workers had to drain the pool and clean the pool out and make sure it was clean. After that incident me and the marketing and sales team had to come up and make a sign for the pool that said it was closed until next week so that our members know that the warm water pool was closed until next week and that they could not use that pool when they came to the facility.
8/28 Labor Day Prep and Pool Predicaments: Navigating Challenges and Creating Flyers
On this Monday, what I did on this day was attend meetings about what is going on for the week and when they are talking about re-opening the warm water pool for the members so that they can use it again. Also me and the other co-workers were discussing the hours for the facility for Labor Day weekend and what activities and fitness activities that were going to take place during Labor Day weekend. After coming up with the ideas for Labor Day weekend at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion me and Michelle went to the office and design the flyer for Labor Day weekend and after we made the flyer with the activities and fitness activities that is going on we posted the flyer on the TriHealth social media to let the consumers online know what’s going on and put the flyers all over the facility so that members can see the flyer and see what is going on and if they are interested in participating in the events. After doing that me and Michelle signed up new members that wanted to join TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion and we gave the members more information about the facility and then we gave them a tour of the facility to see what they are getting by signing up for a membership and after doing that me and Michelle went to the main office and signed up the new members and put their information into the computer so that they can officially be members of TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion.
8/30 September Schedules and System Savvy: A Midweek Dive into Internship Life
On Wednesday this day me and Michelle were going around the facility and taking down all August events flyers down and putting up September events flyers around the facilities to make sure that the members know what events are going in the month of september. After doing that I had to help run the front desk and do front desk duties like making sure members are checked in and making sure members have towels to have and ringing them out when they are trying to purchase water or soda and many more things. After doing front desk duties, me and Michelle were creating the flyers and putting together program packets for the fall season so members can see the schedule and times for fitness classes, fitness center, basketball courts, pools and warm water pool, and workshops that members can attend during the fall season. After making sure that the schedules and times were up to date, me and Michelle gave new members a tour of the facility and signed up with all their information in the system so that they can officially become members of TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. After doing that I helped Marshall out with faxing papers for members and making sure that the members information is correct and Marshall was teaching me about how to do the billing for memberships and how to bill members and how to remove members and their information when they cancel their membership or put their membership on hold for a particular reason.
8/31 Billing Basics and Flyer Frenzy: Wrapping Up August at TriHealth
On Thursday I continue to work on how to bill members and how to get consumers out of the system when they cancel their membership with TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion or if they want to put their membership on hold and most college kids put their memberships on hold. After doing that I met Steve Momback the Ambulatory Serivces & Network Development for TriHealth and it was nice meeting him even though it was a small conversation because he had meetings to attend. After meeting Steve Momback, me and Michelle had to create a flyer to tell members that our warm water pool is going to re-open back up to the public because the pool staff workers did a good job and finished the cleaning of the pool before the September 6th deadline. Once me and Michelle made the flyer for the warm water pool and then we posted it on the TriHealth social media page and made a few copies so that I can go and put that flyer on wall and shelves throughout the facility so that our members can see that the warm water pool is going to be re-opening this weekend. Many of the members were very happy about this news because that is their favorite pool to go and realx and swim laps. Once the warm water pool closed down many members were asking when will the warm water pool be available to use again and now the members get a chance to go back into the warm water pool this weekend.
9/1 Memberships day:
On Friday Michelle taught me how to resign memberships that want to come back to TriHealth Fitness and Helath Pavilion and also how to reactive memberships to members who put their memerbships on hold for some reason. After doing that I had to fax some papers for members and by doing this I am getting better on how to fax and scan members information and filling out the fax paper information correctly so their information can get faxed. After doing that, me and Michelle walked around the entire facility to make sure that we had the schedules for September out and nothing from August so that our members know that we are moving forward to Septmeber and Fall season at TriHealth Fitness and Pavilion. After doing that I covered the front desk for a little bit while the other worker went on break and I answered phones, asked questions about activities and what is going on at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion, and ringing members out when they wanted to buy water or soda. Also I made sure that the members had their towels because they are important to the members that come by. After doing that me and Michelle signed up more new members to TriHealth and gave them a tour of the facility and gave them packets of information that we have for them about the different activities that we have to offer for them and get their cards ready and activate so that they can scan their card and go workout and do their activity.
9/5
For this day for my Internship what I did was entering data numbers and comparing numbers between a company name Basis and and a Company call Kreutzjans on a excel spreadsheet and we were comparing about numbers of branded material we spend money on and used to advertise TriHealth and what non-branded materials were used to spend on advertising. Doing this type of data research is helpful for TriHelath , so that they can see how much money is being spend to advertise the brand. After comparing and entering data and comparing numbers on an excel spreadsheet we had a team meeting with all TriHealth employees and we discusss the schedules, upcoming events that is going on, what should happen to outdoor pool since the weather is changing. I thought that we should close the pool and cover the pool and make it where they can host fall outdoor activities for TriHealth members or for consumers that want to host an activity outside of the facility. After the meeting I went upstairs to the fitness center and watch and learn from personal trainer Andy on how he trains his senior citizen clients and what exercises are good for his client and what type of stretches that are good for their body, also Andy taught me how many reps they should be doing and what nutrition foods and drinks that they should be having. After doing that I thought to myself that it was pretty cool to see what a personal trainer communicates and works with senior citizen clients and how to get the best out of them to achieve their health goals which is very important to them.
9/7
On this Thursday what I did on this day was help La run the front desk and do front desk duties while Michelle had to finish some other work that she needed to get done. After helping La with front desk duties, me and Michelle gave tours of the facility for customers that are looking to join TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion and me and Michelle were able to persuade some customers to join our facility based on the customers needs and wants that we have offered for them at our facility. Sometimes persuading people to join our facility can be a little hard for us because of the competition we have to face like the YMCA, Mason rec center and Blue Ash rec center and other recenters and facilities that may offer better prices or equipment that we don’t have. After helping Michelle with giving tours to customers I went upstairs to shadow personal trainer Kieth and watch and learn how he trains his clients and how to push them and give maximum effort so that they can get into shape and be healthy. After wathcing Keith train his clients and seeing what exercises help his clients, I took some exercises that I learned from him and put it into my workout routine to help my body out. I like going up to the fitness floor and seeing the trainers Keith and Andy do their jobs to the best of their ability and also learn fitness and nutrition from them as well. After doing that I went back to the office and went to scan papers and fax papers to end the day.
9/8
On this Friday me, Michelle, Marshall, and Emily held a Member Services meeting to discuss marketing plans and membership plans and services for TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. During the meeting we all talked about the upcoming events that were going on during the month of September and how we were going to market those events so that our members can know what events are going on during the month of September so that they can see which events they want to attend with friends and family. Also we also discuss how we can close the sale on memberships after we give customers a tour of the facility and what things we could do better to make sure we can close the deal and get the new members signed up. I like this meeting because as a team we also talked about the strengths of marketing and sales strategies and what keeps consumers coming back and we also talked about the weakness of our marketing and sales strategies and how we can improve and make sure consumers stay with TriHealth and not leave and not go to our competition. After the meeting I went to talk to LaShaunda Jones about plans going on next for her Kids Life Center and how they can improve their experience for kids while their parents are away for a little bit. I went back to the marketing room and finished scanning and faxing papers and after doing that I got on my computer and verified data from Google Adwords report.
9/11
This Monday Michelle had a day off, so I went to the welcome center and took pictures of members that wanted a redo picture or a new member wanted to take their picture for their membership. While taking pictures for the members I was also handing out TriHealth member's guest passes to them so that they could invite a friend or family member to TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion so that the member can show their friend or family member the facility we have to offer and persuade them to join TriHealth. I think that this was pretty cool because I got to meet members one-on-one and get to know them a little bit more while taking their pictures and learning about them so that consumers can continue to come back to TriHealth. After taking pictures I had to help with the front desk and do front desk duties and then after doing front desk duties I went to the marketing office to finish scanning and faxing paper so that we could clean out the cabinets to make more room for the office. After doing that I talked with Ms. LaShaunda and we were brainstorming ideas on how we can improve birthday parties and the Kids Life Center at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. Also, I did market and competition research on Kids First Sports Center, JCC, and Mason Community Center and saw their prices and themes on birthday parties they throw for kids. I was comparing our prices and theme packages to those competitors and seeing how we can improve our birthday parties and theme packages at TriHealth and outdo the competition we are facing.
9/13
On this Wednesday I went on and did front desk duties in the morning while I waited for Ms.LaShuanda to get here so that we could work on the birthday party brochure. After doing front desk duties me and my supervisor went to a cooking demo by TriHealth Registered Dietitian Katherine Spitzer and what she cooked for the people that attended was Sunday food to watch the Bengals play. She demonstrated how to cook easy and healthy meals for people watching the Bengals games. She demonstrated Air Fryer Zucchini Fries, Pineapple BBQ Meatballs, and Layered Taco Dip. My favorites were the Layered Taco Dip and the Pineapple BBQ Meatballs and one day I want to make this for myself while I watch football on Saturdays and Sundays. After the cooking demo, Katherine provided us with the recipes for her cooking that she did for this day. After doing the cooking demo I went to Ms. LaShuanda’s office and we brainstormed ideas for updating her party packages for the Kid’s Life Center we came up with a Ninja Warrior theme party because that is one of the most popular party themes for the kid's birthday party and it helps TriHealth out because one of TriHealth personal trainer’s was a former American Ninja Warrior contest, so that helps out a lot. Another one we came up with is having a video game theme party for kids. I think that this is a good idea because kids love to play video games and they love to play video games with their friends. Games like NBA 2K, Fortnite, Madden, and Call of Duty.
9/14
This Thursday after helping Ms. LaShuanda with brainstorming ideas for her birthday party ideas for the Kid’s Life Center she wanted me to find some pictures for her brochure update and for the website so we can have more diverse photos and photos to get our members or future members attention. After finding photos for the brochure, Michelle and I started doing social media marketing for TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion by using Meta Business Suite to change posts and add posts and pin and unpin posts to the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion Facebook page and Instagram page about events that are going to happen at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion and also about opening and closing of certain areas of the center. We wanted to let our members know what is going on at TriHealth on social media so that they can keep updated on the fun events and exercise classes that they can attend and bring a friend or family member. I really enjoyed doing social media marketing because that is something that I want to do in the near future and I feel like getting that type of practice will help in the near future when doing social media marketing. After doing that I went for a walk on the indoor track for about 10-15 minutes and then after doing that I went back to the Marketing office and started scanning papers of members so that they can be in the computer base and so that we can clean out the cabinet in the office.
9/15
On this Friday me and Michelle continue to work on adding posts, removing posts, on the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion social media page. After doing that I went to the front desk and did the front desk duties while Michelle, Marshall, and Emily had other things to do. While doing front desk duties I was able to hold small conversations with members that I helped re-take their photo with and it was really nice to see them and be able to hold small conversations with them while they enjoyed their walk, workout, fitness class, or physical therapy. After doing that I went back to the Marketing office and Michelle made me work on PowerPoint slides for upcoming events that were happening in October and November. I really like doing this because Michelle likes to work ahead and get things done and make sure that we have our fun events and activities ready so that members can see what events they want to attend. I think that it is important to plan ahead and make sure everything is on time so that our members can see and plan their schedules out to enjoy the fun events and awesome exercise classes. After doing that I had to fax papers for members to their doctors and after doing that I went I watched Emily and Marshall give tours to new TriHealth members so that someday I can do a tour by myself. I want to start giving tours by myself so that I can get more comfortable doing tours.
9/18
On Monday I went to Ms. Lashaunda's office and she let me sit in her chair and let me call local businesses to promote their business through the birthday parties for the Kid’s Life Center. We wanted to call local businesses so that we could get a discount on their food for the birthday parties and TriHealth would promote their business to consumers and members. The first local business that I called to help out with the birthday parties was Servatii Pastry Shop, one of the best bakeries in Cincinnati. After talking to them about our birthday promotion they declined our offer and did not want to do business with TriHealth. After being declined by Servatii Pastry Shop we had to go to plan B and call Abby Girl Sweets and it went well. We had a pretty good conversation but because they were a little bit busy they would think about it and would give us a call back. That was a good experience because you want to get your brand out to local businesses and in marketing and sales you have to be able to call and collaborate with businesses to help your business out. I really enjoyed working with Ms. LaShuanda on the birthday brochure and party package and coming up and brainstorming ideas for this brochure and party package to add to the website of TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion so that consumers can see our package and want to throw their kids the best birthday party at TriHealth.
9/20
On this Wednesday what I did was front desk duties with co-worker La and helped her out with front desk duties in the morning. After doing front desk duties in the morning we had a meeting in the conference room. The meeting was about the changes that were going on at TriHealth and upcoming corporate events that were coming up for TriHealth. A few changes were going on: Amy, who is the fitness supervisor, got a promotion to work in the corporate world for TriHealth doing fitness. I thought that was pretty cool because you like to see people do better for their lives and get promotions and a better job for themselves and be successful. Also, Amy well deserves this promotion because of all of the hard work and dedication she put in for TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. After the meeting, Michelle, Marshall, Emily, and I had our own Marketing and Sales meeting so we could talk about membership sales and how we can continue to increase membership sales and keep people signing up at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. We also talked about marketing strategies and how we can improve catching members' and new members' attention to attend events that the facility has to offer to them. After that meeting, I went and we had new members that wanted to join and I helped Michelle put the new member's information into the computer to help the members officially become members of TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion.
9/21
This Thursday I went to the aquatics and shadowed and saw how the fitness instructor teaches water fitness classes to senior citizens we also have a warm water therapy pool and see what kind of exercises people do inside of the warm water therapy pool. I think it is very helpful to have a warm water therapy pool because many people can swim and complete their therapy in the pool and get healthy and recover from their exercises. After watching that I went to the front desk and did the front desk duties after doing the front desk duties, I went to the Marketing office to fax papers for members for a little bit, and then after that me and Michelle work on PowerPoint Slides and also editing the website as well. I think that learning how to edit a website add content to the website and remove content from the website is a good experience for me because I wanted to learn how to do this because now Dr. Bonnie is making us make websites for her and I think it is very helpful for us. After doing that, me and Michelle would schedule a post on the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion social media. I like uploading content on social media for this company because now I am getting more comfortable posting content on social media and I also want to see my work as well which is pretty cool to see your work on social media.
9/23
On Friday I continued to work on the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion social media page. In the morning after doing that, I went to the front desk and did front desk duties and after doing I scanned more papers for members so that we could clean out the cabinet. After doing that Michelle put me in the Welcome Center so that I could take members' and new members' photos again and give them guess passes so that they could give their friend or family member a pass to go with them and explore the TriHealth facility and see if they want to join them and join TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. I was also exposed to the digital marketing realm, where social media and email campaigns play a pivotal role in brand exposure. Learning about data analytics and SEO gave me a newfound appreciation for the science behind marketing. Throughout the day, I observed how the marketing and sales teams collaborate seamlessly to create compelling narratives, target the right audience, and close deals. The energy and camaraderie in the office are infectious, and I am eager to immerse myself fully in this dynamic environment. After doing that I went to the Kids Life Center to watch some kids for a little bit until the supervisor got back from her brief meeting with someone else. After doing that I went with Michelle and the rest of the marketing and Sales team were game planning for next week to boost our sales and our memberships.
9/25
On Monday me and Ms. Lashaunda had an meeting and she wanted to update her bio and add bio’s for her and her staff at the Kids Life Center, so after that meeting, Ms. Lashuanda would tell her staff to send me their bio’s that they want to put for the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion website so that consumers could see the team. We wanted to do this because we were looking at our competition’s websites and seeing that they had pictures and bio’s of their staff that work with kid’s and throw birthday parties and seeing what they did and how they formatted for their website. When all of her staff were at the Kid’s Life Center I went over there to take their group picture and I had to take multiple pictures to make sure they liked it so the picture can go on the website for people to see. Once I got Ms. Lashaunda bio and her staff’s bio’s I was able to put together a microsoft word flyer with their group picture on it and their bio’s to make it look good and I sent it to Ms. LaShaunda looked over it and she liked it but now we have to wait for approval from Michelle so that she can upload it to the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion website. I really enjoyed doing this because you are always trying to keep up with your competition or surpass your competition and doing your research on your competition is very important to stay on top of the game.
9/27
On Wednesday, I helped La out at the front desk and did front desk duties in the morning and after doing front desk duties I had to go to the Welcome Center and take members photos for their memberships and give the members guest passes to them so that they can bring a family member or friend to TriHealth and see if they want to join our facility. After doing that I went back to the office and started scanning papers for members and faxing papers to different doctors for consumers as well. After doing that me and Emily went on a few tours for some members and those members ended up joining our facility. By this time I am now more comfortable giving tours to potential members that want to join our facility by trying to pick their brain and see what the people like and go into more detail about so that they can see what type of access they are going to get if they were to join TriHealth facility. After doing tours I went back to the office and started to work on a write up where you do a write up about discounts on memberships and spa services and what upcoming events that are going on for TriHealth. After doing the writing, me and Michelle put the write up on a flyer, posted it on the TriHealth social media platform and, and emailed it to the TriHealth members. I really enjoyed doing this because I was doing social media marketing and email marketing and these are the skills that I need when I start my career.
9/28
On Thursday me, Michelle, Emily, and Marshall had a meeting in the conference room about what marketing plans are coming up and our numbers in membership sales and how that was going and what events were going on in the months of October and November. We discussed how we were going to market upcoming events to our members by creating flyers, emailing them, posters, Social Media, so that members can see what’s going on at TriHealth and see if they are interested in going to that event. After talking about that our membership sales increase which is a good thing. We discuss how we can improve on closing the sale while on tour and convincing them to sign up on the first try. After discussing that we discussed the upcoming events that were going to happen in the months of October and November and where the events were going to be held and what type of marketing strategies we are going to do to persuade consumers to attend the upcoming events that were going to happen in the months of October and November. After the meeting I meet with Ms. LaShaunda in her office to discuss her upcoming pickleball clinics and how she wanted to promote it to her pickleball players because pickleball is an upcoming popular sport and there are many competitive pickleball players that come to TriHealth, so we need to make sure that we keep them update on what is going on with pickleball at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion.
9/29
On Friday the second to last day of September I helped La out at the front desk doing front desk duties until Michelle got done with her morning meetings with upper management. After Michelle got out of her meeting, I went back to the office with her and she talked about her meeting with upper-level management. After discussing about her meeting I had to go around the entire facility and take down any September flyers or posters and put up flyers and poster up for the month of October so that members can see what events are going on in the month of October at Trihealth and so they can get prepared for Halloween events. After doing that Michelle gave me a flyer of the October to events to make PowerPoints for them so that we can add them to the TV monitor. I feel more comfortable doing this because I like to be creative and make sure that the PowerPoint slide stands out and catches the members attention. After doing that I let Michelle look at them and she will go over it and make sure everything looks good. When I get the approval from Michelle I get to go on the TriHealth carousel digital monitor slide system and upload the PowerPoint slides on the front desk TV monitor and the fitness floor monitor. I really enjoyed doing this because I like to see my work on the TV monitors and always like to see members looking at the TV monitors and get their attention and get them to ask me questions about the event that is going to happen so that they can attend and bring friends and family.
10/2
This Monday in the morning I continue to work on PowerPoints to put on the TV monitor and after doing that me, Michelle, Emily, and Marshall had a small meeting in the marketing room about any ideas for Halloween and things we can do to bring the Halloween spirit. After the small meeting we took turns taking tours with members that wanted to join our facility and keeping track of the sales as well. I really enjoy doing tours because I like meeting new people and talking to them about our facility and what our facility has to offer. Also I like closing the sale and getting people signed up for their new membership. After doing tours I went back to the marketing office and we did social media marketing by adding upcoming events to the social media platforms of Facebook and Instagram so that our members that are following us on social media can see what is going on at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. In my opinon I think that social media marketing is going to be the new wave because there are many people that uses social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram to see what is going on in today’s world and see what events are going to happen and by using those social media platforms you can attract more people to attend your event. Also another popular social media platform that I think that we should consider is TikTok because that is a very popular app that consumers use today and I think that marketing on that social media platform could help with marketing events and products.
10/4
This Wednesday Michelle was in a morning meeting with upper management again so I went into the marketing office and started scanning papers for members and making copies of schedules for the activities, and faxing papers to TriHealth doctors. After doing that me and Marshall were doing billing again to make sure that the billing was correct for members and that the members were being charged the right amount of money for their membership. I enjoy doing this because making sure members are being charged the right amount of money for their membership is important for the member and knowing that the member has the right card on file to charge. Also keep learning about how the billing of memberships works and by doing this I feel like this will help me in the future while doing my career job. After doing that, me and Michelle went to the Welcome Center to sign some new members up and give them their membership cards so that they could scan their cards to check in and use the facility, equipment, and services that we have to offer. After that me and Michelle went back to the marketing room and worked on a flyer for an event called Walk from Obesity that will be taking place on November 4th and many members are looking forward to this event because they love to walk and by having this event I believe that we will have a lot of members sign up for this event to participate in to make sure that they are staying healthy and keeping up with their weight.
10/5
On this Thursday I went to help Jane out at the front desk doing front desk duties in the morning until Ms. Lashaunda came into her office. Once Ms. Lashaunda came into her office I helped her with her pickleball flyer for her pickleball players and what options that she is offering to ther pickleball players like individual session or group sessions to improve their pickleball skills so that they can become better pickleball players so that they can compete with their friends and family or compete in a pickleball tournaments or leagues. After helping her with that I went back to the marketing office and helped Michelle fill out guest passes to pass out to members so that they can give them to a friend or family member and convenience them to join our facility. After doing that me, Michelle, and Ms. Lashaunda reviews the birthday party brochure and KLC’s bio and we look to see what to add and what to remove or what to do over. After fixing it up, we got the approval from Michelle to upload it on the TriHealth website. We felt really good about it because now consumers can see what type of birthday parties TriHealth hosts for their children and what type of theme parties they can get and deals they can get when they book a birthday party at TriHealth. Also for the KLC’s bio’s being uploaded on the website now members can see the staff and their bio’s and see who is watching their kids while they go workout or vist a doctor.
10/6
On Friday me and Michelle were finishing up making the flyer for Walk from Obesity and after doing that I had to get the flyers off the printer and put them up all over the facility, including the elevators. After doing that, TriHealth employees had a meeting in the conference room to dicuss what is going to be happening at Trihealth in the months of October and November. During the meeting we discussed with the supervisor John Jacobs about what things we could change about at TriHealth and how we can get better and keep up or surpass the competition that we are dealing with. Also we talked about supporting breast cancer awearness month and what type of activities or events we can do to support breast cancer awearness month and also by wearing our pink TriHealth shirts. After that each department got the opportunity to talk about what is going on at each department and what activities that are going on and what changes that they are going to do for each department. We also discussed if we could dress up for Halloween coming up because most employees wanted to dress up for Halloween. After the meeting I went back to the marketing office and scan papers and fax papers as well. After doing that me and Marshall went on tours and signed new members that wanted to join our facility. After doing that me and the marketing team had our own meeting in the office to discuss our membership sales and how everything is going with membership.
10/9
On Monday I had to run the front desk by myself for little bit until Jane got here and I must say that I did a pretty good job running the front desk by myself with answering the phones, answering members questions, ringing people out with drinks or snacks, and also signing members up for exercise class of their choice. After Jane got to the front desk I went back to the marketing office and was going to work on some competitive research until we heard on the radio that the hot tub in the men’s was closed down for the next 2 days. So I had to quickly stop what I was doing for competitive research and create a creative PowerPoint slide about how the men’s hot tub will be closed for the next 2 days so that the members can know that the men’s hot tub is going to be closed. I know that some of the men are not going to like this but, we have to make sure that the maintenance is in great condition for our members to use. We had to print out flyers and put them at the front desk and in the men’s locker to make sure members know that TriHealth is working on the hot tub. After doing that I went back to my competitive research about how our competition is about the pricing of memberships and see how we can compete with them and what better deals that we can offer our members at TriHealth.
10/11
On Wednesday I continued my competitive research to look at other recreation centers around the TriHealth area and see how much they charge for a membership and what benefits they get with their membership. Afterwards me and the marketing team were brainstorming ideas as to what our new prices for membership should be and what benefits we want to do so that we can get a competitive edge on our competition. After doing that I had to go back to the marketing office and change the Blue Pajama Movie Night PowerPoint because they have decided to change the movie from Aladdin to Disney Pixar Soul starring Jamie Foxx. After updating that PowerPoint, me and Michelle told me to do PowerPoint Slides for the Halloween events that were going to happen at TriHealth like the pumpkin decorating contest but it was a aquatics theme which caught me and some of co-workers off guard because usually a pumpkin decorating contest is a Halloween theme. Once I finished the PowerPoint and uploaded the software to the TV monitor, we began to promote the event to our members and they were excited because there was a twist in the theme for pumpkin decorating instead of the usual Halloween theme. After I had some free time on my own, I decided to go for a walk on the indoor track and then once I was done I went back to the marketing room and finished scanning papers for members and faxing papers to TriHealth doctors.
10/12
On Thursday I went to the front desk and did front desk duties in the morning because the marketing team was in a meeting with upper-level management. After their meeting the marketing team had another meeting to attend so Michelle sent me to the aquaitcs department and I watched how they do swim lessons with the kids and adults. It was a cool experince to see how they do swim lessons and how they teach people how to swim and the different swim styles so that they can be able to swim by themselves. After swim lessons are over I got to watch how they clean the people and what type of equipment they use to clean the pool and make sure that it is safe to use for all members of TriHealth. After that I got to watch how the water aerobics class is taught and how they exercise on a daily basis and what routine they do on a daily basis. I really enjoyed my time in the aquatics department to see how things operate and how they run their lessons and classes. After watching those exercise classes it makes me wanna exercise in the pool and get a good workout in and burn calories. After being in the aquatics department I went up stairs into the fitness department and watched our personal trainers train their clients and give them knowledge on why these exercises work for their body. I also learned a few tips from our personal trainers about certain exercise for me and also nutrition.
10/13
On Friday after being in different departments I was back in the marketing department by doing tours for members in the morning to start my day off and signing them up after doing our tours. At this point I love giving tours to members and especially after the tour they immediately want to sign up and become a member of TriHealth and use our facility and take adventage of what we have to offer at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. After doing that I had to go to the laundry room to go get some more towels for the front desk because the members at TriHealth love to use multiple towels so we have to make sure that we have a lot of towels at the front desk for our members to use. After doing that I went back into the marketing office with Michelle and she helped me with my resume because I couldn’t figure out how to get my resume down to one page. Me and Michelle worked on my resume together to get it down to one page and make it readable and add some things there and take some things off my resume to make it look good and stand out. After doing that, me and Michelle worked together on cleaning up my LinkedIn profile and making it more professional so that people who look at my LinkedIn profile will like it and make them want to connect with me and we build a relationship with eachother on this networking platform.
10/16
On this Monday after doing my resume and LinkedIn, I was back making PowerPoint Slides for events that were happening for October and November and this event was for the Walk for Waffels. Walk for Waffels is an event where you walk or run for 5K on the outdoor track and after you complete the 5K you go back to the facility and get some Waffels made by TriHealth dietitians. After compelting that PowerPoint slide and starting promoting the event members were ecstatic because our TriHealth members love Waffels including me too. Many members were asking me questions about this event and I was very happy to help and give them all the information about this event for our members. After doing that I went over to the KLC and supervised the kids and also played games with the kids as well. That was a fun time because we got to shoot some hoops and play uno card games and also watch their movie as well. After watching the kids in the KLC I had some free time and decided to go for a walk upstairs on the indoor track and after getting done with my walk I went back down to marketing room and finish scanning papers and faxing papers so that once we get done with all of the scanning we can move the file cabinet so that we can make some more room for the marketing office and that is why we do a lot of scanning of papers.
10/18
On Wednesday I was running back and forth between the front desk and doing front desk duties and the Welcome Center taking photos for members who wanted a new picture for their membership. After doing that I was able to get a few waffles because the Walk for Waffels event took place and they had extra waffles. Those waffles were good. The TriHealth dietitians did a good job of making those waffles and the dietitians also had a recipe printed out for people to take if they were interested in making those types of waffles at home for themselves or for their family members. After doing that I helped set up the Cancer healthy living workshop in the confrence room and after doing that I attended that healthy living workshop becasue I wanted to learn about how people get cancer and what treatments they take and what things you should do to prevent getting cancer. This was a great event that was held by TriHealth because this workshop educated people like me on Cancer and now I know deep information about Cancer and I am willing to share it with people. After doing that I helped take down the equipment and other stuff from the healthy living workshop and went back to the marketing room with the marketing team to discuss upcoming plans for the rest of October and November. One of the big events that we discussed was the Lung Health event that was going to be taking place in the beginning of November.
10/19
On Thursday me and the marketing team were starting to brainstorm ideas for our big Lung Health Event which was November 4th. After doing that me and the marketing team had a meeting by ourselves to talk about the our sales for the month of October and what we can do to increase membership sales and how we can improve our tours so that we can close the deal on the first go around instead of waiting for a response or have them visit different recreation centers. I enjoyed these types of meetings with just the marketing team because we can see our numbers and see what we can improve and what we need to continue to do to keep new members signing up for memberships at TriHealth. We also discuss what is going on in the month of November and what type of events are going to happen and what sales goal is going to be for the month of November. After the meeting I went over to the KLC center and supervised the kids again until Ms. Lashuanda got back from her meetings and took care of other important things. After doing that I went back to the marketing rooma and did some scanning and faxing papers and then once I got done with that me and Michelle went over our gamepaln for the next several days coming regarding to marketing events and help set up events, and working with different apartments of the TriHealth Facility again while she is in meetings.
10/20
On this Friday every TriHealth was schock due to our new website that was uploaded on this day and many employees were not happy with the how the new was displayed. It was all out of place and not easy to navigate. Even though our members had trouble using our website to find certain things, it took other TriHealth employees to help them find what they were looking for on the new TriHealth website. Also the website did not have the new bio’s on there as well so many TriHealth employees were not happy about that. After the next few days TriHealth did eventually change the website and updated the bio’s for the employees and everybody was happy with the new website. After viewing the new TriHealth website I had to go help out and set up another healthy living workshop called Prediabetes. With this workshop the people will learn about Prediabetes and many more things like what things to eat and getting plenty of exercise so that you can be healthy. After helping out with that event I went to the aquatics department again to see how they do Adaptive Swim Lessons for people who have a disability and they want to learn how to swim. It was a great class because seeing kids with disabilities being active and having fun about it was a good thing for me. After doing that I went back to the marketing office and went on doing social media marketing and uploading events on the TriHealth social media platform page like Facebook and Instagram.
10/23
On this Monday I continued to do social media marketing by posting events to TriHealth’s social media page like Facebook and Instagram. After doing that, me and Michelle did tours for new members and got them to sign up after the tours which is a major plus for us as we continue to get new members to join TriHealth. After doing that with Michelle I went back to the marketing room and pulled up a chair next to Marshall and we did billing for members of TriHealth to make sure that their membership is good and that they have the right membership and the correct credit card on file for when we charge them each month for their membership. I really enjoy working with Marshall on billing because now I am getting more comfortable with doing billing for the members at TriHealth. After doing billing with Marshall I went over to the KLC to help out Ms. Lashaunda with game activities for the kids. It was a blast because we played fun games and had a good time while playing the fun games. After that we played card games and got to watch TV after that. After helping Ms. Lashaunda with the kids in the KLC I went to the front desk to help La out with the front desk duties so that she wouldn’t be by herself and doing too much. After doing that I went back to the marketing room and scanned and faxed papers for the consumers for TriHealth.
10/25
On this Wednesday what I did was while I was doing social media marketing I had to make an excel spreadsheet of the differences between Facebook and Instagram posts, likes, comments, by the people that are following our social media platform. After doing that, me and Michelle compared the numbers to see which platform was doing well and which one was not doing well and what can we do to improve on the numbers to make sure that more people are following TriHealth social media on Facebook and Instagram. I believe that improving your social media numbers is very important because you want the people to see your content and see what’s going on at the facility so that they can get involved in the fun on going activities at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. I still beleive that they should have a TikTok but I don’t think thath they would know how to use that social media platform like the younger people do. After doing that I went upstairs to the fitness room and helped rack the weights back up and make sure that they are in correct order so that our members can use the weights that they please. After doing that I went back downstairs and back to the marketing room and started scanning and faxing papers for the members and after doing that I went to Ms. Lashaunda office to talk about her upcoming events for the KLC and for pickleball and many other events that will be going on at the sports arena inside TriHealth.
10/26
On this Thursday I did front desk duties by myself again and going to the Welcome Center and taking photos for members and also giving them guest passes for them so that they can give to their friends and family to come visit our facility and hopefully would convince them to sign up for a membership with TriHealth. After doing this I went to the KLC with Ms. Lashuanda and helped her supervised the kids for a little bit and then after being in the KLC with Ms. Lashaunda I went back to the marketing room and Michelle gave me excel spreadsheet 100 functions so that I can learn the basics of Microsoft Excle Spreadsheet and how to operate it so that I can get use to using Excel Spreadsheet and keep improving my skills in Microsft Excel Spreadsheet because I am goin go to need to know this skill for when I start my career job because it requires to use Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet. Learning that was major for me because of all the tools that Excel has to offer to consumers. After doing that I did more PowerPoint slides for Michelle to look at to get approved to go on the TV monitor and make sure that when people walk into TriHealth they can see the standout PowerPoints of fun events that they want to attend or maybe friends and family want to attend so that they can have a good time. Also, I enjoy being creative for the PwoerPoint slides.
10/27
The day kicked off with an energetic team meeting where we discussed ongoing marketing campaigns, upcoming events, and sales targets. It was inspiring to witness the dedication and passion that each team member brings to the table. The collaborative atmosphere fueled my motivation for the day ahead. One of the main tasks for today was to finalize the content for the upcoming social media campaign promoting the Pavilion's new fitness classes. I worked closely with the marketing team to craft engaging and informative posts, ensuring that we effectively communicated the unique benefits of each class. The creative brainstorming session led to the development of captivating visuals and compelling copy that we believe will resonate well with our target audience. Later in the day, I had the opportunity to assist in preparing for an on-site event aimed at attracting new members. Collaborating with the sales team, I helped organize promotional materials, set up informational booths, and ensured that our sales pitches were polished and aligned with the Pavilion's values. Engaging with potential members allowed me to refine my interpersonal skills and better understand the needs and preferences of our diverse clientele. In the afternoon, there was a department-wide training session on the latest trends in digital marketing and sales strategies. Staying updated with industry best practices is crucial, and the session provided valuable insights that I can incorporate into our future campaigns. The dynamic nature of marketing and sales requires continuous learning, and I appreciate the emphasis that TriHealth places on professional development. As the workday winds down, I reflect on the achievements and growth I've experienced over the past year. From honing my copywriting skills to gaining confidence in client interactions, the internship has been a transformative experience. I am grateful for the guidance and mentorship provided by my colleagues, who have played a significant role in shaping my understanding of the marketing and sales landscape.
10/30
On this Monday the TriHealth employees were all gearing up for dressing up on Halloween on Tuesday and they were getting in the Halloween Spirit. After greeting my co-workers I went to the marketing office and continued to finish the Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet 100 functions to keep learning about Microsoft Excel and its functions. After doing that I went to Ms. Lashaunda's office to help her put together one of her events this upcoming Friday which is Freaky Friday Fest & Magic Show for kids to dress up in their costumes and have fun playing fun Halloween games and lots of candy. After doing that TriHelath members brought in food for lunch so, for lunch I had food at the cafe and it was delicious, especially the buffalo chicken dip that was really good. After that amazing lunch, I went back to the marketing room and scanned and faxed papers so that we could empty the file cabinet. After TriHealth employees started to gear up for the Lung Health Event that takes place on November 4th on a Saturday. The process of setting up for this event is going to take a couple days to prepare for as we get ready for this exciting event. After that, me and Michelle talked about what will be going on this week and what will I be doing after finishing this internship with them. We talked about the jobs that are available and what skills to continue to get better at so that I can accomplish my dreams of working in sports marketing.
11/1
On this day what I did was help with Michelle make flyers for the Lung Health event and make sure that I put it up all over the facility so that our members can see our big event that is going to be happening on Saturday so members can learn about lung health and run or walk 5K so that they can become happy and healthy individuals. Also me and Michelle did social media marketing to post on our social media platforms Facebook and Instagram so that our consumers that follow us on our social media platforms can see our big event and decide to come out and attend this awesome event. After doing that I had to go all over the facility and take down any flyer or poster that had October on it because we are now starting a new month of November. After doing that, me and Michelle made a Flyer so that members could see that they should follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with the latest news and events that are going to happen at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion. After doing that the manager John Jacobs called for a meeting for the upcoming events for November. We discuss the game plan on what is going to be happening on Saturday for the Lung Health event and what we should wear and what type of companies are coming and different guest speakers that are going to come to this event and speak to the people that are in attendance.
